According to a new report published by Forrester Research – and presented at Le Web conference in Paris – the wearable tech market will triple in 2015. The report found that 45% of American respondents are excited about strapping a connected device onto their wrist to track fitness, play music and access the Web for email, information and entertainment.
Interestingly, many users wear these devices 24/7 – even while they sleep – making wearables a natural host for the AtHoc app. Even if their phone is set to silent or in another room, the wearable can alert users to danger via a gentle wrist vibration.
Another advantage: the devices are becoming more capable of collecting data about users and their environments, paving the way for smart alerting and personnel accountability.
